🚀 Design Futures: What World Do We Want To Design? UX designers and engineers have an ever-growing responsibility to society, as more and more people make tech a part of their daily lives - staying healthy, earning an income or even finding love. How has design helped us and where has it failed? Critical design, through approaches like design futures and speculative design, allow us to explore the cultural, social and ethical implications of emerging technologies. In doing so, we can champion design that builds positive futures and avoids disastrous results.

👨‍🎨 About Sean Buch (https://dplusplus.co.za) Sean has worked in the design field for ten years and holds a Master of Arts in Fine Arts from Wits University. He champions inter-disciplinary approaches to design, having worked as both a designer and developer, which further holistic digital transformation. He currently leads a growing team of UX engineers at Entelect, one of South Africa's top solutions consultancies. In a short time, he's significantly increased Entelect's UX footprint across South Africa and parts of Africa.

👽 Strange Times We're living in somewhat strange times. This is a look at the current state of technology, economies, and societies given the pandemic that has impacted us all; and the potential futures as a result of this unseen threat.

🧟‍♂️ About Rishal Hurbans (https://rhurbans.com) Rishal is a solutions architect at Entelect where he is responsible for strategic planning, ideating, and designing and developing solutions for local and international clients; whilst actively growing knowledge and skills within the company, community, and industry. Rishal has authored "Grokking AI Algorithms" with Manning Publications aimed at demystifying AI algorithms for technologists by teaching the approaches through practical problem solving and visual explanations.
